Corporate Helicopter Transport
Corporate helicopter transport is a key part of any high level hospitality package. The organisation of managing several helicopters in challenging rural environments is not for the inexperienced! With many years of experience in arranging helicopter transportation for guests around the world, Cube was the natural choice for Wales Rally GB.
Working closely with Showplace, the event’s hospitality partners, our team provided a fleet of helicopters. The project involved the air crafts themselves together with full logistics support, pilots, refuelling strategies and the employment of experienced ground staff. We ensured that the many corporate guests were transported safely around the Welsh countryside to the event’s special stages. Here, they experienced at first hand how top drivers put Word Rally Championship machinery through their paces.
Cube also arranged for a refuelling team, which prevented any long refuelling flights. thereby enabling Cube to maximise the guests’ air time.
Health and safety surrounding helicopters, guests and the general public at landing sites requires serious planning. Accordingly, temporary helipads were established in certain location to fully complying with air traffic control regulations.
Planning the helicopter schedule was just one part of the programme. Given the unpredictability of British weather, especially with the Rally taking place in November, we also organised a transportation backup plan. As a result, we arranged for an extensive fleet of ground vehicles to be on standby, ready to be deployed should inclement weather set in.
Cube was the official supplier for 3 years, deploying helicopters to provide a seamless operation and ensuring each guest had an experience to remember. Throughout the event, our well-informed team entertained the guests as they arrived at pick up points, providing detailed and knowledgeable briefings about the rally, the teams and the drivers.
During a typical event, a single helicopter would fly up to 30 trips, transporting 180 passengers.
