UCI ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Cube supports the UCI Road World Championships with Event Retail Design Services and StreetVelodrome
The UCI Road World Championships in the pinnacle event in the international road cycling calendar. The Championships include a range of men’s and women’s races, across age groups from junior to elite, starting in different towns and cities throughout Yorkshire and each finishing in the main competition town of Harrogate.
The Championships featured 11 races over eight days of competition for Junior (U18), Under 23 and Elite athletes, including Individual Time Trials, Road Races and, new for 2019, Team Time Trial Mixed Races. This year’s event also saw the inclusion of The Yorkshire 2019 Para-Cycling International, the first UCI-sanctioned international para-cycling event to take place alongside the UCI Road World Championships.
All World Championship winners, both teams and individuals, are awarded the coveted rainbow jersey – one of the most iconic prizes in the sport!
The Cube team was involved in both the main event itself, delivering the design and build of the internal fitout and branding of the official UCI Merchandise Superstore, and at the Cycle Expo where it delivered its unique pop-up cycling track: StreetVelodrome.
WHAT WE DID
For the UCI Merchandise Superstore, located in the fanzone in Harrogate, we designed, supplied and installed a range of high-quality fitouts and retail displays. The structure’s interior layout provided a spacious and dynamic environment with excellent access and visibility, ideal for the large number of customers who visited the store. The Cube team completed the pop-up structure with strong branding and eye-catching graphics.
At the Cycle Expo, which was held at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate, Cube’s on-event team also enjoyed two action-packed days with its innovative pop-up cycling track, StreetVelodrome. Supplied on behalf of Evans Cycles, one of the UK’s leading specialist bike shops, the unique track, with its dramatically sloped corners, emulates the experience of Olympic-style pursuit racing. Races and time trials, as well as some less competitive try-outs, were held throughout each day, providing participants, visitors and spectators alike with an exciting and thrilling spectacle!
Part of the Cube International group, Cube Management is at the forefront of reimagining and redefining how events, brands and businesses connect and engage with their spectators, fans and visitors across the globe.
