Cube Delivers Sustainable Infrastructure Units to Formula E’s Monaco E-Prix
Cube Management has continued its great partnership with Formula E, following the delivery of 65 of its sustainable modular foldable buildings at the Monaco E-Prix. Part of the ABB Formula E World Championships, the units were installed at one of the most iconic venues in global motor sport, including a 30 unit TV compound within the world famous Monaco Marina.
The Cube Management projects team prepared the units in Cube’s new warehouse facility in Worcester, in readiness for the complex install programme which includes a 15 bay jointed, two storey configuration of cabins within the world famous Monaco Marina.
The 65 sustainable foldable cabins were transported from the UK to Monaco on just eight articulated lorries. The efficient nature of transporting Cube’s award-winning Continest foldable buildings used for this project, aligns with Formula E’s core principles which focus on sustainable practices and reducing carbon foot print.
The Cube crew were on-site for the duration of the build and event with racing held on Saturday 30th April 2022.
Jon Graham, Cube Management’s Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to have expanded our relationship with Formula E, following a most successful initial partnership project at the London race last July. Last year’s build, at ExCeL London, was a complex one, with over 140 cabins installed including a double-stacked race control built in the main hall.
“Our project team and installation crew were exceptional on that project and when the opportunity arose to work with Formula E again, this time in Monaco, it was important that we, once again, were able to offer an unsurpassed service whilst continuing to develop our portfolio. The whole team has worked incredibly hard to ensure our work in Monaco is befitting such an historic venue in motor sport.”
Leo Betlles Corominas, FiA Formula E’s Senior Track and Overlay Manager, said: “We are very happy for how quick you could react and provide the amount of units we needed in such a short time. To bring 60+ cabins from the UK on only 9 trucks was impressive, and you could see everybody filming how you assembled them. Everyone there was fascinated.
“Quality was great and to have all cabins prepared in advance made the build easier and quicker. Something that is not always is achieved. The ‘ticket booth’ units were perfect for their use. Good design! As for the Info Point cabin, this gave us a lot of ideas for the future. For sure we will ask units with ramps and curtains for storages. Much more discreet and better looking than white tents with peak roofs.”
Part of the Cube International group, Cube Management is at the forefront of reimagining and redefining how events, brands and businesses connect and engage with their spectators, fans and visitors across the globe.
