ABOUT THE NATIONS LEAGUE

The UEFA Nations League is a new, biennial international football competition contested by the senior men’s national teams of the member associations of UEFA, the sport’s European governing body.

The four group winners from League A (Portugal, Switzerland, Netherlands and England) have qualified for the Finals, which is to be held in Portugal in June 2019. The Finals will be played in a knock out format consisting of 2 semi-finals, a third-place play-off and a final.

THE FORMAT

The format of the UEFA Nations League features promotion and relegation. The 55 European national teams were divided into four leagues in accordance with UEFA’s national rankings as on 11 October 2017. Each league consists of four groups.

The group games were held over six matchdays in September, October and November 2018. In each league, four group winners have been promoted (or play in the Finals, see below) and four teams have been relegated. The next competition will start in 2020.

Third place play-off: tbd v tbd (9th June 2019)

CUBE’S INVOLVEMENT

Cube has been contracted to provide all the retail infrastructure and branding on site, to support Fanatics’ retail operations during the Nations League Semi Finals and Finals in Portugal.  The Cube team has completed site checks in both Guimaraes and Porto, during which they agreed locations with both Fanatics and UEFA in readiness for delivering and installing all the structures and equipment in June.

Cube will supply a mix of tented and steel structures, ensuring the retail teams have maximum coverage of the two stadiums and to ensure all visiting fans are given the opportunity to buy the official merchandise.
