Cube To Organise CycleFest Cycling Event, with Covid-19 safety measures in place
Cube Management, organisers of Mad Hare Cycling Club events, has announced its latest event. On 25th October the sport event management company will be hosting a CycleFest cycling event at the East of England Arena in Peterborough.
The outdoor event has been accredited by the Safe Event Scheme, which means it has been planned, produced and managed safely and responsibly, to ensure it will be in line with the most up-to-date Covid-19 event and public safety measures.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to enjoy BMX stunt shows from Fusion Extreme, a kids zone, featuring a pop-up velodrome from Street Velodrome, pedal karts, crazy bikes and balance bikes. The surrounding Cambridgeshire countryside will provide the backdrop to a 50km and 100km sportive, hosted by Mad Hare Cycling Club.

Family FreeRide allows everyone make use of the vast amount of traffic-free space at CycleFest. Take your bike for a spin – whether you’re a little one starting out on a balance bike or fancy taking that new road bike out for ride – enjoy the space.

Working closely with Public Health England, Peterborough City Council and the venue, a total of just 2,000 tickets have gone on sale to families and cycling enthusiasts, to ensure the necessary precautions can be met and enough space is available for everyone to be safe.
Further safety measures include: full social distancing across the site, including six-person viewing spaces; distanced queuing and one way systems; track and trace on arrival; supply of hand sanitiser stations in public areas and full disinfection of all kids zone equipment between uses. A ‘bring your own bike’ policy is also encouraged.
Carl Thompson, MD of Cube Management, said: “We appreciate that given the existing – and introduction of new – restrictions due to Covid-19, people are rightfully wary of going out and attending events. However, we have been working very closely with the relevant organisations to ensure the event is safe.
“We have been collaborating with the East of England Arena to ensure the measurements we have in place are clear and are therefore delighted to have been accredited by the Safe Event Scheme.
“This is set to be a fantastic event for both cycling enthusiasts and families alike. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the day and simply ask that everyone pay attention to the guidance to make it a great experience for everyone.”
Up to 600 cyclists are invited to take part in the sportive, in accordance with British Cycling regulations. Entry costs £25, which includes entry to CycleFest itself.
Tickets for CycleFest, which takes place between 8am and 5pm, costs £10. Under 12s go free.
